New Service Offering: School Placement Consulting

Hi everyone—happy summer! This is my favorite season, especially here in Oregon where we’re lucky to have easy access to beaches, forests, and endless trails for hiking, biking, running, or whatever gets you outside and feeling good.

I’m excited to share a new service I’m officially launching this summer: School Placement Consulting. This offering grew organically after several families reached out for help navigating school options for their gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) children.

The School Placement Consulting Process includes three personalized components:

1. Family Intake (with Parents & Child)
   I’ll ask lots of thoughtful questions to learn about your child’s strengths, challenges, interests, and what you’re looking for in a school. It’s important that your child joins us for this part—I love hearing directly from kids about what kind of learning environment they’d thrive in. One of my favorite questions to ask is: “If we could create a brand-new school just for you and your friends, what would it look and feel like?”

2. Fully Customized Report
   You’ll receive a personalized report outlining my top school recommendations, tailored to your child’s learning profile, your family’s location and budget preferences, and the overall fit. Each recommendation includes thoughtful reasoning behind the match.

3. Follow-Up Session
   We’ll meet again to talk through your questions, offer support with applications, and brainstorm enrichment options to support your child’s needs, both in and outside of school.

So far, I’ve helped place around 12 gifted/2e students in schools that better support who they are—and I can’t wait to continue this work with more families across the Portland metro area!
